Looking for work can be a full-time job. It does take time and effort, but there are a number of proven methods you can use to successfully gain employment.  Here are a few examples:

  • Develop a good résumé
  • The vast majority of available jobs are not advertised so visit employers in person to see if they are hiring
  • Build your personal job search “network” by spreading the word through family and friends that you are looking for employment
  • Check job search websites
  • Check the newspaper classified ads
  • Contact employment service agencies

Can I get help when looking for work?

Absolutely!  BEC offers the Job Finders Club at no cost to you.  Participants in the full-time program receive professional guidance and resources as well as take an active role in job search activities.  Club members receive the advantages of group sharing and peer support. Contact the BEC to check on availability and scheduling.  You can even register online.
