While some employers are willing to train new employees, others are looking for experience. So sometimes getting an employer to take a chance on you can be difficult. Make sure you give yourself the best chance possible by preparing a good résumé and cover letter. Another idea is to consider volunteer work in the field you are hoping to enter in order to gain experience. You can also tell the potential employer that they can be reimbursed 50% of your wage for up to 30 weeks under the BEC’s Wage Subsidy Assistance Program.
