Register online now, click here! The Wage Subsidy Assistance (WSA) Program is intended to assist unemployed individuals in finding permanent full-time jobs of a minimum 30 hours per week. In Niagara, this program is coordinated by the Business Education Council of Niagara with funding provided by Employment Ontario.
Unemployed? We can make it easier to find a job! Register for the WSA program and enjoy these benefits: - By hiring you and providing you with work experience an employer can receive a grant up to 50% for up to 30 weeks.
- Use of the employer flyer during job interviews or with job applications to let employers know that you are eligible for the program.
- We will also forward your resume to area employers who are hiring.
Who is eligible? Anyone who is unemployed and: - currently collecting Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or,
- had an EI claim end in the past 3 years (36) months or,
- had a parental/maternity EI claim start in the past 5 years (60 months)
Interested employers must contact a BEC Coordinator BEFORE THEY HIRE YOU at 905-684-7200 ext. 1810 or 1811 Note: Interested individuals can also contact an Employment Assistance Agency to request a registration package.
